Bio:
Eric Kingery is a technology leader and community-builder. As VP of Engineering at Public Good Software, Eric leads the development of machine learning technology which enables readers to take action on current events by matching journalistic articles to relevant charitable organizations and opportunities. He is the lead author of two peer-reviewed papers on Public Good’s unique approach to machine learning, both presented at the Bloomberg Data for Good Exchange.
Eric is an active leader in the Chicago technology community. He is the founder of Refactor::Chicago, a community of 1,750+ professionals dedicated to learning and sharing ideas and technologies in order to help each other succeed in software engineering environments. Eric also volunteers time to help others learn technology in classrooms, labs, conferences, and online as a mentor and maintainer of Exercism.io. Previously CTO of Wellspring and Director of Technology at Sittercity, Eric has built and scaled successful products and teams in high growth environments. Eric holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Engineering.
